"I'm too old."
" I'm not strong enough."
These were the thoughts that crossed Jane's mind when she was invited to her first pole fitness class. At the time, she was an Early Childhood Educator, Con-Ed Teaching Faculty Member of Sheridan College, and a mother with two young children.
Comfortable with stability, Jane was hesitant to break the rules that she had set for herself.
What she didn't know at the time was that those restrictions were holding her back from a life-changing transformation - the kind that only comes from stepping outside of your comfort zone.
Reluctantly, she broke her own rules.
To her surprise, not only did she enjoy the class - she fell deeply and passionately in love with pole fitness. For the first time in a long time, she felt confident, empowered and comfortable in her own skin.
A fire was lit inside of her.
Now, she wanted other women to feel the way she did. She wanted them to recognize the strength and power that they already had within themselves.
In 2008, she opened PoleFit Nation, which became more than a fitness centre; it became a special place for both her and her students.
And they realized.. this wasn't actually about pole dancing. this was about self esteem and embracing not only who you want to be, but who you are right now.
For Jane, the journey to self-acceptance was unexpected, but it was also where she learned an important lesson; You are fully capable of reinventing your life.
Realizing that there is value in what she's learned, she now shares and teaches others as a professional speaker. Her mission is to empower women to reclaim their spark so they can rock their own world.
As Jane has learned, when you break the rules that you've set for yourself, you can be the catalyst for your own bold transformations.
